DESCRIPTION:Thrikodithanam Mahavishnu Temple\, located at Changanassery in 
 Kottayam district\, is an ancient Vishnu shrine and one of Kerala’s Panc
 ha Pandava temples\, traditionally associated with the Pandavas of the Mah
 abharata. Kerala Tourism notes the temple’s ancient stone carvings\, wal
 l inscriptions\, mural paintings and finely worked wooden carvings depicti
 ng deities\, including the Dasavathara\, while the shrine is believed to d
 ate to around the seventh century CE. The presiding deity is Lord Vishnu\,
  and the temple occupies an important place in the religious heritage of c
 entral Kerala. The temple is also associated with the Vaishnavite traditio
 n of sacred Vishnu shrines and is revered by devotees for its long-standin
 g ritual practices. Among its important annual observances is the Deepa Ma
 hotsavam\, a five-day festival held in the Malayalam month of Vrischikam\,
  generally during November–December. The festival has a distinctive ritu
 al identity centred on the story associated with Sahadeva\, one of the Pan
 davas. Its name derives from the ceremonial piling and lighting of hundred
 s of Sarakudoms\, made from dried plantain leaves\, with the ritual enactm
 ent forming a notable part of the celebrations. Kerala Tourism records rit
