DESCRIPTION:Sree Thalikkunu Maha Shiva Temple\, also known as Thalikkunnu S
 hiva Temple\, is a traditional Shiva shrine situated at Mankavu in Kozhiko
 de. Dedicated to Lord Shiva\, the temple is an established place of worshi
 p in the city and is particularly associated with the annual Maha Shivarat
 ri celebration. The shrine follows the traditional Kerala temple architect
 ural idiom\, with the main sanctum facing east and a Nandi mandapa positio
 ned before it. The principal deity is worshipped in the form of a Shiva Li
 ngam\, while Ganapathi and Ayyappa are worshipped within the inner temple 
 and Nagaraja is worshipped in the outer precincts near a large banyan tree
 . A temple well is also located within the complex for ritual use. The tem
 ple's setting in Mankavu gives it a distinctly local character\, while its
  traditional architecture and ritual layout reflect the established forms 
 of Hindu temple construction in Kerala. Maha Shivaratri is the principal a
 nnual festival associated with the shrine and is observed according to the
  Hindu lunar calendar\, generally falling in February or March. The celebr
 ation includes special worship and ritual observances\, with the festival 
 programme traditionally featuring Maha Ganapati Homam\, Niramala\, Chuttu 
 Vilakku\, Vilakkin Ezhunnallippu and Kazhcha Sreebali. The latter is accom
 panied by traditional temple music and\, according to descriptions of the
