DESCRIPTION:Vayalar Ramavarma’s musical legacy continues to be celebrated
through remembrance programmes\, song evenings\, and cultural events orga
nised in his honour. Vayalar Ramavarma\, one of Malayalam’s most influen
tial poets and film lyricists\, wrote a large body of poetry and Malayalam
film songs that remain closely associated with Kerala’s literary and mu
sical heritage. The Vayalar Ramavarma Memorial Trust\, established in 1976
\, regularly conducts cultural programmes connected with his memory\, incl
uding Vayalar poetry and song competitions\, literary gatherings\, poetry
recitals\, and musical programmes. The Trust’s official programme listin
gs currently include events such as Vayalar Smrithi Sayahnam and Manaveeya
m Vayalar Gaanasandhya\, while its annual October 27 observances around Va
yalar’s death anniversary include the Vayalar Award and other literary a
nd cultural programmes. These musical tributes commonly draw on Vayalar’
s celebrated poetry and film lyrics\, bringing his words to audiences thro
ugh live singing and related artistic presentations. His association with
Malayalam cinema produced a substantial body of popular songs\, many of wh
ich continue to be performed in remembrance programmes and musical evening
 s. The memorial at Vayalar in Alappuzha district\, located at his ancestra
l home at Raghavaparambil\, serves as an important site of remembrance and
houses facilities connected with his literary legacy. Musical tributes to
Vayalar are also presented at other cultural venues…\n\nEvent page: htt
