DESCRIPTION:Pazhayapalli Thangal Adiyanthiram is an annual religious observ
 ance held at the historic Pazhayapalli Mosque in Changanassery\, Kottayam\
 , a prominent Muslim pilgrimage centre in Central Travancore. The mosque i
 s regarded by Kerala Tourism as about 950 years old and is known for its l
 ong-standing religious and cultural importance in the region. The mosque c
 omplex preserves the maqbaras\, or mausoleums\, of revered Thangals\, incl
 uding the tomb of Karuthathangal\, adding to the spiritual significance of
  the site. The annual Thangal Adiyanthiram is particularly noted for its l
 arge community feast\, an important expression of charity\, hospitality an
 d collective participation. Devotees contribute ingredients for the prepar
 ation of biryani\, with Kerala Tourism noting that around two tonnes of ri
 ce and meat are traditionally used for the feast. The gathering draws part
 icipants from Changanassery and surrounding areas and reflects the mosque
 ’s continuing role as a centre of worship and community life. Pazhayapal
 li also occupies a distinctive place within the religious landscape of Cha
 nganassery\, where historic places of worship belonging to different faith
  communities exist in close proximity. The mosque\, a nearby Bhagavathy te
 mple and a Catholic church are recognised as symbols of the area’s longs
