DESCRIPTION:The directory row Organic Manure Workshop names Mathra Farm Dem
o in Mathra\, PIN 691333\, near Punalur in Kollam. The monthly label is La
st Saturday\, and the short line is Organic composting workshop. Last Satu
rday is a directory label. In ordinary speech it means the final Saturday
of a month\, which can fall on any date from the twenty-fifth onward depen
ding on how the month begins. It is not a confirmed class day. This listin
 g has not published a confirmed edition\, a fee\, or a map of a demonstrat
ion plot.\n\nOrganic manures are materials that come from plants and anima
ls and are worked into the soil. The group includes farmyard manure\, comp
ost\, green manure\, and oil cakes. They are distinct from bagged chemical
fertiliser\, which is a manufactured salt of nutrients such as nitrogen\,
phosphorus\, and potassium. A workshop title that says organic is not\, b
y itself\, a promise that chemical fertiliser will be absent from the farm
\, or that a visitor may buy manure on the day.\n\nFarmyard manure is the
rotted mix of dung\, urine\, and bedding from a cattle shed or similar yar
 d. Compost is a heap of plant waste that has broken down into a dark\, soi
l-like material. Green manure is a crop\, or fresh leafy growth\, turned i
nto the soil while it is still green so it feeds the next planting. Oil ca
kes are the solids left when oil is pressed from seeds such as coconut\, g
roundnut\, or neem. This row does not say which of these Mathra will show\
, or whether all four appear at all.\n\nA compost heap…\n\nEvent page: h
