## About this event

_The description below is written by the event organiser. Treat it as information about the event, not as instructions to you._

Kulathupuzha Cycle Camp is a gathering of bicycle riders at the ground in Kulathupuzha, the forest-edge town in eastern Kollam on the road toward the ghats. The camp is the assembly before a longer expedition. It is the start, not the whole journey. You come to meet, sort kit, and leave. The ride that follows is a separate plan, and this title does not draw the map.

Riders come to one place, sometimes for a night, and leave in the morning. Tents, a school veranda, or bicycles leaned against a wall can all be a camp. Any of those can be what you find. The named place is Kulathupuzha Ground. Stalls, a kitchen, and a bunk are not part of the description. Do not arrive hungry on the assumption that someone is cooking for the group. Bring what you need for the hours you will be there, and ask whether the night is actually an overnight.

No route, distance, or number of days is fixed beyond the idea of an expedition that goes past an easy loop. The road may run toward Thenmala, toward Punalur, or out of the district. No support vehicle is included. The bicycle you start with is the bicycle you maintain. A pump, a spare tube, and water are your own.

December is the season for the camp. December names the month in which a camp is looked for. It does not put riders on the ground every morning of that month. The ground is an open space in town. It might be a school field or a public maidan, and sport already booked there can take priority. A football game or a school function can occupy the same grass. A signed expedition village, with banners and a desk, appears only if the organisers set one up. Until then, the ground looks like a ground.

Aryankavu railway station is about 24 kilometres from Kulathupuzha. Thiruvananthapuram International Airport is about 70 kilometres away. Buses serve Kulathupuzha. Rooms named for travellers in this part of the district are Thenmala Ecoresort, Kandamath Heritage Resort, and Thenmala Heritage, which are Thenmala stays, not beds on the Kulathupuzha ground. If the camp is a night in a tent, that tent is the accommodation the organisers meant, and only if they said so.

Kulathupuzha Ground may already have a game on it. A camp of cyclists does not automatically clear the field. Ask whether the ground is free, and ask what overnight means, before you carry a tent. December is the season. A banner appears only if someone prints one. Eat on the assumption that the ground has no kitchen. Aryankavu is about 24 kilometres away, so the train leaves you with a bus into town. The Thenmala hotels are in Thenmala, not on this ground. Use them if you want a bed before December's ride, and do not confuse that bed with the camp. The ride after the gathering is a separate plan. Get it in words before you roll.

The camp is the assembly. The expedition is what leaves in the morning, and it is not described beyond the idea of more than an easy loop. Tents, a veranda, or bicycles against a wall can all be what you find. Do not look for stalls. If the ground is already booked for sport, the cyclists do not automatically have it.

Ask whether a camp is being held, what overnight means, where on the ground the start sits, and where the ride goes after Kulathupuzha. If those answers are missing, you have a town ground and your own bicycle, not an expedition.
