DESCRIPTION:Iringole Bhagavathy Temple\, popularly known as Iringole Kavu\,
  is a distinctive sacred-grove temple in Rayamangalam near Perumbavoor in 
 Ernakulam district\, set within a large forested area traditionally preser
 ved as a kavu. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathy and is regard
 ed by Kerala Tourism as one of the 108 Durga temples of Kerala\, with loca
 l tradition associating its origin with Sage Parasurama. The grove is an i
 mportant part of the shrine’s identity: trees\, creepers and other veget
 ation are traditionally treated with reverence\, and the natural setting h
 as been preserved around the temple as a sacred landscape. Kerala Tourism 
 describes the grove as covering about 50 acres and notes the presence of a
  pond within the premises. The shrine is associated with a legend in which
  Bhagavathy appears in the form of a young girl to protect Lord Krishna fr
 om Kamsa\, while the deity is traditionally worshipped in different forms 
 during the course of the day\, including Saraswathi\, Vanadurga and Bhadra
 kali. The annual Pooram is the principal festival of Iringole Kavu and is 
 held during the Malayalam month of Meenam\, generally falling between Marc
 h and April. According to records cited by the Kerala High Court\, the maj
 or festival extends from the second to the tenth day of Meenam. The celebr
 ations combine temple rituals with processions and traditional forms of Ke
