DESCRIPTION:Cycling Expedition Pathanapuram is a multi-day bicycle journey 
 that starts on the road through Pathanapuram\, the Kollam town north of Pu
 nalur. It is a journey across more than one day. It is not an evening loop
  that ends before dark\, and it is not the monthly ride that meets at the 
 Thenmala visitors centre. You leave with the idea of being away from home.
 \n\nThe same rider stays with the same bicycle. Kit is whatever the days a
 way from home require: a change of clothes\, a way to deal with a puncture
 \, water\, and food. Nights might be in camp\, in a lodge\, or back in Pat
 hanapuram if the ride is a series of day loops. That choice belongs to the
  people leading the ride. No support van is promised. Some expeditions fol
 low with a vehicle that carries bags and can pick up a rider who has to st
 op. Others are self-supported\, and the bicycle carries everything. Until 
 the leader says which of those you are joining\, pack as if you have to ca
 rry your own kit.\n\nNo route is fixed in advance. The wheels might stay n
 ear Pathanapuram\, turn toward Punalur\, or leave Kollam. Hills toward the
  east\, the road south to the coast\, or a loop through nearby villages ar
 e all possible until a map is published. Do not draw a line on a phone and
  call it the expedition. The distance of each day\, the hills\, and the pl
 ace you sleep are part of the plan you have to ask for.\n\nDecember is the
