DESCRIPTION:Christmas Carol Service at St. Joseph’s Metropolitan Cathedra
l\, Palayam\, is a seasonal Christian celebration that brings together mus
ic\, prayer and Christmas devotion in the heart of Thiruvananthapuram. The
cathedral\, widely known as Palayam Palli\, is the Latin Catholic metropo
litan cathedral of the Archdiocese of Trivandrum and is one of the city’
s prominent religious landmarks. Its Gothic-style architecture\, prominent
façade and tall bell tower give the church a distinctive presence in the
Palayam area\, where major places of worship representing different faith
traditions stand close to one another. During the Christmas season\, the
cathedral becomes part of the city’s wider celebrations marking the birt
h of Jesus Christ\, with special prayers\, Christmas services\, devotional
music and festive decorations forming part of the religious atmosphere. C
hristmas carols are an important part of Christian Christmas traditions in
Kerala\, and choral singing provides a musical expression of the season t
hrough familiar hymns and devotional songs. At St. Joseph’s Cathedral\,
Christmas Eve observances have also included special prayers and midnight
services\, with senior church clergy leading the celebrations. The cathedr
al has therefore long been associated with Christmas worship in Thiruvanan
thapuram\, attracting parishioners and other faithful during the festive p
eriod. A carol service or Christmas musical programme can complement these
liturgical celebrations by bringing together choir…\n\nEvent page: http
