The Chandanakudam Mahotsavam is the most prominent and visually striking ritual of the Beemapally Uroos, held annually at the Beemapally Dargah Sharif. This grand celebration is dedicated to honoring the revered Muslim saint, Bee Umma, whose life and teachings continue to inspire thousands of devotees across Kerala and beyond. Chandanakudam Mahotsavam is not only a religious ritual but also a vibrant cultural event that beautifully showcases the devotion, traditions, and artistic heritage of the region.

The highlight of Chandanakudam Mahotsavam is the ceremonial procession of “Chandanakudams,” intricately decorated pots filled with sandalwood paste and other sacred offerings. These pots symbolize devotion and reverence for Bee Umma, and carrying them to the Dargah is considered an act of spiritual merit. Devotees from various parts of Kerala participate enthusiastically, carrying these elaborately adorned pots while chanting prayers and singing traditional devotional songs. The procession weaves through the streets around the Dargah, creating a mesmerizing display of faith, color, and music that draws thousands of spectators.

Apart from the procession, the Mahotsavam features elaborate rituals, special prayers, and recitations of the Quran, reinforcing the spiritual significance of the event. Local art forms, folk music, and cultural performances also add a festive atmosphere, making it a celebration that blends devotion with Kerala’s rich cultural heritage. The festival emphasizes unity, as people from different communities come together to honor the saint, reflecting the inclusive spirit of Beemapally Uroos.
