Anchal Scouts Camp is a Bharat Scouts camp at the high school in Anchal, Kollam. Bharat Scouts and Guides is the Indian scouting organisation. The camp is for enrolled scouts, young people who already belong to a unit and come with their leaders. The point is outdoor skill: time away from household routine, work in a patrol, and simple tasks done outside. A patrol is the small group scouts already know from their unit. No badge list is fixed here, and no timetable is fixed here. The tasks are the ones the leaders set for that camp. A description cannot demand a particular activity.

The camp might use tents in the school yard or classrooms cleared for the scouts. Either way the school stays a school. It is not a public fair. There is no market, no ticket gate, and no open hour for townspeople to walk among the tents. Parents who are not part of the unit do not have a visiting hour unless the leaders announce one. October is the month for the camp. The opening day, and the question of an overnight stay, come from the school and the local scouting body. A day camp and a night under canvas are different events. Ask which one is called.

A family that wants a child to join uses the ordinary enrolment path through a unit. Standing outside the gate is not taking part. Children at the camp should not be photographed unless the leaders have agreed. The high school is not the town hall, and it is not the upper primary school used for other meetings in Anchal. Ask for the high school gate. The school is the address you start with.

Punalur railway station is about 14 kilometres from Anchal. Thiruvananthapuram International Airport is about 69 kilometres away. Buses use the Anchal bus stand. Hotel Utham Mahal and Archana Hotel are rooms for adults who need a bed in town. Scouts sleep where the camp puts them, if an overnight has been called. A hotel is not the camp.

If your child is not already in Bharat Scouts and Guides, this camp is not the way in. Enrolment is through a unit, with leaders, before any camp is called.
